I’ve already conquered my reading challenge for the year! So far I’ve read 52 books, and my goal was to read 50. I love GoodReads for keeping track of my reading lists.
This year the two best discoveries I made were 1) Melody Carlson– she’s written over 200 books (have I been living under a rock?), including The Christmas Cat, The Christmas Swap, The Christmas Dog, and Christmas in Winter Hill, all which I recently read. They are all such easy-to-read, cozy books, that leave you with a warm feeling in your heart. I definitely recommend her if you’re looking for a Christmas/holiday read.
2) The Last High by Daniel Kalla- this book was actually written by an emergency room physician, so it’s technical, and I’m assuming, accurate. While it is fiction, it gives a (tragic and fascinating) look into the dark side of Vancouver’s opioid crisis. If you like medical thrillers, try Kalla’s books!
